LTSC to meet in October at Learning 2005

The LTSC will hold its next set of working group meetings in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday October 30 just prior to the Masie Center's new Learning 2005 event. The Masie Center is generously providing space and assisting with logistics for this meeting. An LTSC plenary event will be held as part of Learning 2005.

Travel Arrangements

The location is at the Coronado Springs Resort on the Disney World property in Orlando, Florida, USA. Lodging details (with rates and forms to request rooms) can be found at http://www.learning2005.com/hotel-information/.

Hints about Travel to Orlando

The Orlando airport has call letters MCO (it was orginally McCoy). There are shuttles to the Disney properties. Renting a car is also an option. Parking is free at the Disney properties.

The Coronado Springs Resort is very large, so when you arrive you might want to ask for a room close to the conference center. The more distant buildings are a good hike from the center. The alternative housing is the Yacht Club, which is a more upscale Disney resort and is walking distance to the Epcot Center but will requre using either Disney transportation (bus) or driving to the conference center.

Learning Technology Standards Committee Plenary: Standards Update

Context: Are standards the technical fundament of our learning ecosystem? Is standardization practiced by strangers in a strange land? And what standards do we want and need anyway? The IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee wants to know what you think and answer your questions.

Let's Discuss: The past, present and future of all things standards-related.

Tuesday
14:45 is our second session

Learning Standards Update

Let's Discuss: The aggregation of learning objects (SCORM), object discovery and tracking (CORDRA), electronic documents (S1000D) and other potential standards into a new high-level model
